17 Jun 2008 - Parent Forum Wednesday Coffee Morning
Tomorrow, there will be a coffee morning as usual from 9.00am to 11.30am, tea and toast will be available and there'll be some toys out for the children. Everyone is very welcome, please come along and join us.
This week, we will have a visit from the Health Visitor (Karen Jones) who will be able to explain more about her role and answer any questions you may have. This is just the start of more visits from the Health Vistors to give help and advice about our children.
Next week, we will start work on the Welcome Banner, and we need parents to help. We especially need parents who speak a language other than English who can help us write Welcome in lots of different languages! Also. if you enjoy 'craft' activities, you'd be very welcome to come along and get creative. On Thursday, as part of the Refugee Week activities, more work will take place on the Banner and we'd love you to join us for that!
At last week's coffee morning, we made the following decisions about spending the money collected the Parent Forum:
- £965 will be given to school, to subsidise school summer trips. This means that no parent will be asked to contribute more than £10 per child.
- £200 will be given to Blooming Burngreave, towards the cost of providing hanging baskets along the main road leading to school
- £150 will be spent on minibus driving licences for school staff, so that we can hire minibuses to take out small groups of children at a greatly reduced cost.
Sports Day was also discussed, along with the Summer Fair and a Christmas Fair. We look forward to Father Albert joining us at a future coffee morning to talk about a joint Christmas fundraising event!
Thank you to everyone who was able to come to the meeting, to bring your views and to represent other parents.
